This past weekend, I volunteered with Lynnhaven River NOW at their "Scoop The Poop" table, by helping children make buttons for themselves to wear to promote cleaning up after their furry family members.

These stations provide data on extratidal water levels along the Chesapeake Bay Watershed region.
Bubba's Restaurant, located along the Lynnhaven River, near the Lynnhaven Inlet, flooded from Hurricane Matthew on October 8, 2016. Major flooding also occurred in other areas connected to the Lynnhaven River, including my own neighborhood of Windsor Woods.
Earlier this year, Bubba's Restaurant had its building and marina raised 5 feet, in the event of flooding occurring again. In this video, you can see that their planning paid off when Hurricane Dorian passed through Virginia Beach on September 6, 2019. However, The Back Deck Restaurant just next door did not fair so well during the flooding that occurred along the Lynnhaven River.
